Deciding to build or renovate for yourself is an important step. It can be very rewarding. There are rules and regulations and some important facts you should however make yourself aware of.

Whilst Building:

  • Construction Insurance - cover for Fire, Storm, Theft and Legal Liability;
  • Building Licences - check that subbies are licensed;
  • Building Approval Certificates - needed before you start; and
  • Certificate of Final Inspection / Occupancy - issued by Council or Surveyor when complete.

When selling, do I have any responsibilities?
